<br /><br />"I named this character Blood Currency because I wanted to understand money in a new way. I started thinking about how money circulates in our society, and I realized that the substance that circulates within our bodies is blood. So the currency within our body is blood. This reframed my thoughts about money, because I realized the we need money to circulate in order to keep all parts nourished. If you look closely you'll see that I've sewn pennies all over the skirt of this costume." -Laura Hollick, soul artist. <br /><br />Photo by Paul Potter. Costume by Laura Hollick
