Creating inner wealth is like tending the garden of your spirit. Every time you connect within and express yourself creatively, you deepen the roots of your inner wealth garden and nourish your being.

Inner wealth is the foundation for outer wealth. If you want to grow a magnificent life, start within and tend to your sacred inner garden.

Creative Expression is one of the best ways to create and grow inner wealth.

Our life is filled with challenges and opportunities to evolve our spirit and experience a rich meaningful life. As we strengthen our relationship with our spirit we can move through the challenges more smoothly and spot the opportunities with greater ease.

In order to do this you need to have a strong connection with your spirit and be able to hear what your spirit is saying.

Here are…

7 simple strategies for strengthening your spirit connection

1. Listen

If you want to strengthen your connection with spirit, you need to actively listen for the clues. Listening can be with your ears, it can also be with your awareness. Notice your surroundings and see what speaks to you.

2. Create space

You need to have breathing space in order to be able to hear your spirit. If you are running around there is no space for your spirit. Make a decision to create space for your spirit to be.

3. Let go of judgment

If you judge your own inner thoughts and feelings, you’ll never be able to hear your spirit because it will be clouded behind the judgment. Practice letting go of judgment and just allowing yourself and others to be what they are, your spirit will thrive in that energy.

4. Trust

The more you trust your intuitive nudges the more they will come. Trust is a muscle in the realm of spirit. The more you trust the stronger your spirit connection becomes.

5. Joy

Anything that brings you joy is a clear indication that your spirit is present. Smiling is a quick way to experience joy, just start smiling!

6. Self Care

Your spirit thrives when you take care of yourself. This means eating well, enjoying nourishing sleeps and surrounding yourself with things that make you feel good.

7. Get Creative

Creativity is like a direct line to your spirit. When you enter the realm of creativity you enter spirit territory. Get creative by playing with colours, outfits, ideas, food, a garden,  anything, just let yourself explore possibilities of what can be!

Soul Art studio buzzing with creative energy

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Soul Art studio was buzzing with creative energy during the recent Launch Soul Art workshop.

Here are some snapshots from the January 30-31st’ 2010 weekend…

We had quite the journey!

The creative process always reveals metaphors for our life journey. When we feel frustrated in our creative process it is because there is an aspect of our life that is frustrating. When we feel joy in our creative process it is because our spirit is free to be.

The Soul Art journey is about finding the way for our spirit to be. The creative process teaches us how our spirit can flow and teaches us how to make our lives a living breathing expression of our spirit on earth. This takes clear desire, courage and willingness to let spirit be the leader.

I was blown away by the courage and creativity of each person who attended this workshop, they let their spirit lead and they are launching into new spheres in their lives!

DAYDREAMING  opens your inner eyes.

DAYDREAMING sheds light on your true desires.

DAYDREAMING awakens your soul’s purpose.

DAYDREAMING is a creative workout.

DAYDREAMING stretches your imagination.

DAYDREAMING is where ideas are born.

DAYDREAMING calms the system and invigorates the soul.

DAYDREAMING solves problems in innovative ways.

DAYDREAMING is like a big dress up game where you can be anyone you want to be.

DAYDREAMING is an opportunity for your spirit to dance with you.

There are no rules in daydreaming.

Anything is possible in daydreams.

Daydreaming wakes YOU up!

YOUR SPIRIT ASSIGNMENT

Here are some questions to daydream about….

1. If you could do whatever you wanted what would you do?

2. If you had all the money you needed, how would you spend your time?

3. What is the most amazing experience you can imagine for yourself?

Expand your creative potential

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

Being creative is an athletic pursuit in the sense that you have to exercise your creativity to get it in shape. If you want to expand your creative potential you need to strengthen your creativity muscles.

Here are 4 things that can tone you up. Watch out, if you do these 4 things you will become a creative powerhouse!

4 Things to EXPAND YOUR CREATIVE POTENTIAL

1. Figure out what is the most fun for you.

2. Do that as much as possible. Don’t bargain with this, discover what is fun for you and make that the bulk of your day.

3. Make your spirit and your relationship with your spirit a priority. You know the saying, “You take yourself with you wherever you go.” Well it is true. If you want to experience a rich, fulfilling, creative life you have to develop a loving relationship with yourself.

4. Gift yourself with the time to imagine. This can mean spending days doing NOTHING! When you are imagining, daydreaming and fantasizing it can look like you are doing nothing, don’t let this outward appearance fool you. This is probably the most productive time for any creative person. I personally spend at least 2-4 hours a day doing NOTHING!

YOUR SPIRIT ASSIGNMENT

Ask yourself this question…

What is the most fun for you?

Whatever the answer to that question is, do that today~ either in your imagination or in physical reality.

be your beauty

‘Flowering my Beauty’ collage  created by Laura Hollick
“May the beauty that you love be what you do” -Rumi

Each of us has our own idea of beauty.  It can be an elusive thing to measure, because everyone has their own understanding and experience of it.   In attempt to understand beauty on a deeper level, I’ve been doing some experimenting, trying  to figure out what real beauty feels like?

I would like to invite you to try this experiment too. Ask yourself this question:

When do I feel beautiful?

In asking myself this question, I found there were varying degrees to the experience of beauty.

The first level is when someone else finds you attractive or beautiful, and you feel validated and assured that you are beautiful because they  think so.  This is great in the moment but the  trouble with this is that your beauty is dependent  on someone else’s opinion and it can be fleeting. It can also be exhausting to try to figure out what someone else will find beautiful so you can be beautiful in their eyes.

The next level of beauty (through my experiment) happened when I felt I was the most myself. When I felt in alignment with what is truly meaningful to me I noticed a rush of good feelings fill me up. When I am able to express the fullest version of myself I feel radiantly beautiful.  It is the expression of myself  that makes me feel beautiful!

This kind of beauty pulses through my entire body and it doesn’t matter who notices. Although it adds to the fun when someone else can experience it with me.

If you want to experience your own deep beauty ask yourself this question….

How can I express what is most meaningful to me?

Be your beauty, express yourself!

connect with your creative power

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

Painting by RICK RIVET.  Rick was recently interviewed on ‘The Artist’s Lifestyle’ radio show on 93.3 FM CFMU hosted by Laura Hollick.  Rick is an artist who connects with his creative power and expresses it fully!
Connecting with your creative power is about connecting with that deep place within yourself that has access to unlimited inspiration and insights.

You know you are connected with your creative power when your juices are flowing, things are lining up and magic is happening.

You know you are disconnected from your creative power when you feel blocked, frustrated, stifled and confused.

What would YOUR life be like if you could access your full creative power NOW?…  No matter what blocks you think stand in your way!

I asked a bunch of people and this is what they said:

“If I could access my creative power I would feel like I would finally know my life purpose.”

“I would feel like I could really express what is inside me.”

“I would feel like I could finally let go of the fear and  move forward into the life I’ve always wanted to live.”

What would YOU feel if you could access your creative power?

Here is a mini SOUL ART exercise to find out if you are ready to fully access your creative powers….

1. When you reflect on your current life experience, do you feel you are expressing the depths of who you are in meaningful and purposeful ways?

2.  When you were a child, did you dream of wonderful things for yourself?

3.  Does your current life match the vision you had for yourself as a child?

4.  Do you fantasize about living a meaningful life that is fulfilling to your soul?

5.  Are you ready to experience the awakening of your dreams and finally step into the life you’ve imagined for yourself?

expressing your heart

Expressing your heart can simply be the greatest pleasure and fulfillment there is!

But I have a confession to make to you…. for many years I did not know how to express my heart. As a result a deep frustration brewed inside me,  because I knew there was something that wanted to come out, I just didn’t know how to get it out.  So all the glorious beauty of the heart lay  dormant and frozen within me.

This was a quiet time that bordered on total isolation.  This was also a time when I began marinating in the desire to know my heart and develop the ability to express it.

Have you ever felt there was something wonderful inside you, but you just didn’t know how to express it?

Well, I certainly have experienced that!

Over the past couple of years, as you may have witnessed through the happenings in this weekly newsletter,
a lot has been happening for me, including media attention, award nominations, and incredible opportunities.

When I reflect back on what turned it around, wondering how did I go from being blocked up and frustrated
to flowing and sharing my creativity with others?

I can honestly tell you that everything that has happened is in direct proportion to my ability to know and express my heart. The more I know my heart and trust it enough to express it amazing things unfold.

The more my inner world is filled with love the more my outer world reflects things that bring me joy.

So if you are wanting more joy and fulfillment in your life, look to the roots of the joy and I’ll bet you’ll find it in your ability to know your heart and express it.

the goddess path

‘Departure’, Oil Painting by JIA LU. To view more of Jia Lu’s art go to www.jialu.com

When someone inspires you it is like being given a gift. It is as if their very presence lights your inner candle and you are ignited with a new sense of clarity, purpose and understanding.

Recently I had the rare opportunity to interview one of my favourite artists, someone that I consider to be a living master. I say ‘rare’ because usually artists are recognized as being masters long after they are dead. And this artist is alive and consistently able to capture a quality of goddess beauty within each and every one of her paintings. Her name is JIA LU. I’ve included two of her paintings for you to see, and you can view more of her work at www.jialu.com

During our interview Jia said something that ‘inspired’ me…

“Women are goddesses when they can recognize themselves. This allows them to reach the level of wisdom.” -Jia Lu

‘Sunrise’, Oil Painting by JIA LU www.jialu.com

This got me wondering… What does it mean to recognize yourself?

Because if you can recognize yourself then you can be a goddess with wisdom.

I’ve created a guided exercise for you to learn how to recognize yourself and begin walking your goddess path.

the s-spot

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

‘Oceanic Vagina’, Watercolour & ink drawing by Laura Hollick

What exactly is the S-Spot and what does it have to do with SOUL ART?

You know you’ve hit the S-Spot when you feel the rush of creative energy flowing through your being and everything lines up in a spontaneous and perfect way.

The S-Spot is your Soul, the sweet spot within yourself that is connected to your unlimited potential. Your Soul holds the seed of your purpose and the map for realizing that purpose.

When you tap into your Soul, you tap into your creative potential and your ability to be and become the fullest version of yourself.

Finding your S-Spot can sometimes feel like a courting match, where you are wooing yourself. You can move in and out of being connected with your Soul, and that is why I like to call it the Divine Love Affair.

Once you make your Soul a priority in your life, you begin a life long relationship with yourself. It is a relationship that shapes every aspect of your life, from how you perceive the world around you, to how you experience other people, your career, money, food, the way you spend your time, the types of thoughts you hold, etc..

If you want to open the floodgates of unlimited creative potential and really step into the life of your dreams you need to tap into your S-Spot.

I’ve created a simple exercise you can try right now to flirt with yourself and massage your S-Spot. If you decide to try this exercise, give yourself the time and space to really savour and enjoy this, you’ll feel the benefits!

Massaging your S-Spot:

~Start with unwinding, list the last three thoughts you had. (For example: I just thought about a phone conversation I had; what I’ll be working on in my studio later today; and what I’m preparing for dinner)

~Notice where your thoughts reside. (For example: my thoughts were in the past and the future)

~Now, take a deep breath and bring yourself to the present moment. You can bring yourself to the present moment by feeling and noticing what is happening right now within your body.

~Notice how you feel in your body NOW

~Ask your body “What do you feel right now?”

~Listen

~Listen deeply

~Listen with the greatest curiosity

~Listen with complete attention

~Listen

This sounds very very simple, but if you are able to listen to how you feel you begin deepening your relationship with yourself and you build the trust for your Soul to speak with you.

Massaging your S-Spot is about building the trust with yourself, so your Soul feels safe to communicate with you.

Listen deeply to yourself, you will hear some phenomenal things!
