When you feel connected with your Spirit you are empowered, beautiful, clear, inspired, healthy, wealthy and able to face life’s challenges with love.

Imagine a society where children are brought up to believe that who they truly are is their greatest asset and their connection with their unique creative spirit is their compass for their Great Work.

Since most people in our society were brought up to believe they needed to be someone else in order to have value, there is a lot of undoing that is happening in our World today on a grand scale. The Great Work facing most of us at this time is to unwind old conditioning so we can re-align with our Spirit and let it lead us forward.

Here are 3 Tips for Aligning with Your Spirit

1. Trust the Wise Winds

The winds are always changing.  Sometimes they are cold and biting and other times they are warm and soothing like an ocean breeze. As you travel through your life  you will experience all sorts of winds.  The winds will be guiding, teaching, supporting and challenging you at different times.in some way. To deepen your connection with your Spirit you will need to trust the winds and believe in their wisdom.

How are the winds moving in your life now? and, ow can you deepen your trust with what is currently happening?

2.Expect Magic

Expecting magic sounds simple and childish, and it is.  Fairy Tales appeal to children because their heart understands it.  As we tune into magic we tune into our heart and the Land of Possibility.  Spirit dwells in the Land of Possibility.  It is no wonder that books like ‘Harry Potter’ are so popular, because the magic is awakening our collective spirit.

What is something magical that has happened in your life? Describe it in juicy detail and you’ll feel your spirit light up.

3. Nudge into Your Edges

Spirit loves to expand. As you nudge into the edges of yourself and what is possible your spirit starts to blossom.  Your edge is the place where you are inspired to learn, to deepen, to grow, and evolve. It is also the place where you are challenged and called to find a new way of being.

The New Paradigm is like a Divine Love Affair between the masculine and feminine energies. There is a new kind of balance coming into play. A balance that includes the strength and stability of masculine energy along with the sensuality and creativity of feminine energy.

We need a union of both energies in order to create a new experience of health, wealth and beauty.

For the past few thousand years our society has been dominated by male energy. This imbalance is being reflected in our economy as well as all our Earth rumblings. I believe many of the challenges creative spiritual people face today, such as the ‘Starving Artist’ syndrom are a direct outcome to this imbalance.

The New Paradigm is not about becoming a female dominated society, because that would be off balance as well. Although I do imagine it will swing a bit more to the feminine energies for a while to balance things out.

Ultimately we are moving towards a New Paradigm where both energies are honored and harnessed to their fullest potential. It is about union.

Everyone has both masculine and feminine energies within them. As you tune into your masculine and feminine energies you can experience your own union. The shifts start on an inner level first.

There is something so intoxicating about being in connection with the Divine.  When it happens it can feel like a passionate Love Affair that washes over you like a storm, or it can feel like a Mystical Union that puts everything into perspective with a deep sense of peace.

Whatever it is, I shape my life around these moments and exercise my spiritual awareness so that I can deepen the potential for these experiences.

Being a Soul Artist is the practice of connecting with the Divine through art and creative expression.

During this past week I coloured a bunch of Mandala’s while meditating on my spirit.

While I was choosing the colours and selecting the arrangements I felt like I was romancing my spirit. With every motion I was inviting my spirit to speak with me and dazzle me with insights and guidance for my life.

I did receive a harvest of insights from this creative process. One of them was a list of 21 ways that you can romance your spirit to speak with you.

21 Ways to Romance Your Spirit

1. Set the intention to connect with your spirit

2. Bring closure to an old relationship

3. Organize your finances

4. Take a long luxurious bath

5. Go shopping just to try on beautiful outfits

6. Create a mandala

7. Call a friend

8. Watch children play

9. Laugh at funny memories

10. Go for a drive and sing to the music on the radio

11. Prepare a nourishing meal and enjoy eating it

12. Have a conversation with someone who thinks differently than you

13. Reveal the truth of how you feel in your journal

14. Fantasize the most amazing love affair

15. Just start running!

16. Send flowers to someone anonymously

17. Rearrange the furniture in your home

18. Think about all the things you love about your family of origin

My experience of the creative process feels like a Divine Love Affair. There is a passion that overtakes me as my spirit receives inspired ideas and births them into reality.

In order for there to be a creative birth, there needs to be a coming together of different energies.  I call this the ‘Union of Opposites’.

I believe the job of a Soul Artist is to make the invisible world of soul visible;  make the intangible  tangible;  and birth ideas into reality. This is the Divine Love Affair, this is the union of opposites.

The idea for this photo came to me while I was hiking in the snow last year.  Everything felt so magical I thought it would be a perfect way to illustrate the tingling feeling of the union of opposites.  Of course it is not real snow  (it is actually white flour).

I approached photographer Stephanie Bell about doing this shoot and she was into it and did a phenomenal job (even better than I imagined!).  Ken MacDonnell is the model along with me, he is a total delight to work with.
