5 Tips for connecting with your Animal Totem

1. Ask a clear question

In order for an animal to be drawn to you, you need to ask for guidance on a specific topic.  For example: If you want a spiritual message about your health, then ask a very clear question, such as,” Show me the way to experience  total physical health and beauty”.

2. Go about your day

Once you have posed a clear question, let it go!  This sounds simple, but probably the most challenging in our ‘fast food’ society that wants everything NOW.  The best thing you can do is go about your day and let an animal come to you.  You’ll be surprised and delighted when your animal shows up.

3. Recognize it when it comes

When your Animal Totem shows up you need to be aware that it has come.  Sometimes an animal will come in an obvious way, like a raccoon running across the street in front of you.  But sometimes animals show up in ways that are less obvious and we need to be attentive and recognize them when they come.  Here are some examples of ways your Animal Totem could show up:

-Receiving a card in the mail with a big picture of an elephant on it, pay attention, elephant may be trying to speak to you.
-Hearing the sound of a bird without actually seeing it, this is another way your Animal Totem may show up.
-In conversation, someone may start talking about snakes, pay attention, snake may be trying to communicate with you.

4. Translate the messages

When an animal shows up, here are some questions you can ask yourself to understand what spiritual message is being offered. The way you answer these questions will give you insight into how your Animal Totem is communicating with you.

-How  did the animal appear to you?
-How would you describe the personality of this animal?
-Where does this animal live? How do you feel about that place?
-What behavior does this animal express?
-What does this animal mean to you?
-How did you feel when you experienced this animal?
-What do you sense this animal is communicating to you?

5. Gratitude

It is very important to express gratitude to your Animal Totem.  When an Animal Totem shows up it is a spiritual gift, receive the message and Thank it for its gifts!
